Gravity keeps us pushed onto the ground. there is friction between us and the ground. We use this friction to push a foot backwards, the result of which is to move our centre or mass forward. The earth moves backwards slightly as a reaction. We take a step easy! Ants just use adhesive friction. Yahoo Anwers.
