Courage is important, and battle can often take many forms outside of swords and fists. It can be the courage to debate with someone, courage to stand up for a friend, or even the courage to ask questions in class.
There's also always room for kindness and that goes along with being generous. Loyalty is also important, both to friends through thick and thin or to an ideal that you hold true to yourself that you're willing to be courageous enough to stand up for. Support for education and the arts are also important points that can carry through whatever era of history we find ourselves in.
Championing a lady is a chivalric notion that's a bit outdated in today's world. Though there are still some obstacles, women are a lot freer to express themselves and do what they wish today than they were back then in King Richard's time. For example, with rare exceptions, it would be expected for men to go to war. Today, our military allows both men and women to freely join up and defend themselves and their country.
