    Multiply the fraction by 14/14 (which is equal to 1). Then the fraction becomes -7/42. Simplify to -1/6

    No. You're dividing -7/14 by three. Multiply the fraction by 14/14. In other words, multiply the top (numerator) by 14, and multiply the bottom (denominator) by 14. The answer is -1/6. Look at my first reply.

    **You need to divide -7/14 by three. An easy way to do that, looking at the fraction, is to multiply the top and bottom by 14. -7/14 turns into -7. 3 turns into 42. So the fraction becomes -7/42. Then simplify it to reach -1/6, which is the answer.
