how can i simplify this problem 10v+2y-30y+5v please help

    Combine like terms. -30y and 2y are like terms and when you combine them you get -28y. Now do the same with 10v and 5v, combined you get 15v. So 15v-28y is your answer.

    And they are like terms because they have the same letter attached to them.
