What's wrong with this sentence? Before I used to frequently ask myself about what I was to do with my life, and I was clueless for a while until I realized that what I want to do is what I've been wanting to do my whole life.

It seems repetitive and I think it's run-on..

I'm not sure what, exactly, you are trying to say, but this is what I came up with: I used to ask myself what I wanted to do with my life; I was clueless until I realized that what I wanted to do is what I had been doing all along.
