Having trouble with a problem: "Use difference quotients with \[\Delta x=0.1\] to estimate \[f _{x}(2,1)\] where \[f(x,y)=e ^{x}\sin(y)\] . As far as I know I should be using the formula \[\frac{ f(a+h, b)f(a,b) }{ h }\]
I've come up with (.103.114)/.1 which is approx .11, but apparently that is wrong? Am I using the wrong forumula, or just missing a step? Any help?
