Using the map above, which answer best explains why the original colonies were concentrated along the Atlantic coast? Warring tribes in the west made travel difficult. Colonists needed to be ready to leave quickly if need be. The Appalachian Mountains presented a major obstacle. Water sources grew more scarce along the Appalachian Mountain range.

    I disagree, water isn't too scarce, but the Appalachians were a huge physical barrier to colonization. So my pick is C
