Are foreshadowing and symbolism considered language techniques?

    Yes they both are, because they can change how are author writes something. Foreshadowing tells that the author wants to 'hint' at something thats going to happen later, and symbolism shows how the author thinks a specific thing has more meaning then you make thing it just, maybe highlighting a theme in the book itself.
