    Venture capital refers to equity financing of companies that are in the early stages of new products or services, or companies in the expansion stage. EU invests in venture capital through venture capital funds, which are financial instruments created specifically for this purpose. Venture capital funds carry out a careful selection of companies in which they invest. Areas in which to invest venture capital funds, mainly information technology and life sciences and biotechnology.
