a.
x + y = 24
y = x  6
(15, 9)
c.
6x + y = 24
y = 12x + 3
(12, 12)
b.
12x + 6y = 24
y  2x = 0
(9, 15)

it be a because the 1st given property is the sum of both numbers is 24 which means x + y = 24 and since choice a is the only 1 with that option it automatically eliminates the other optoins

So the first thing says, "The sum of two numbers is 24" We don't know what those two numbers are, so we can make up a name for them, usually we will call these unknowns "x" and "y" because they're mysterious, like PLANET X! How can we make that sentence into an equation? Well, the sum means we're adding right? and when they say something "is" something, that usually means it's an equals sign so it becomes x+y=24 Are you comfortable with that? Try making up the next equation based off the sentence: "The second number is 6 less than the first."

I wasn't aware there were multiple questions from this person, I just logged in and thought I'd have a go. I didn't give her the answer, but if she's willing to work with me I'm still willing to work with her. Otherwise I'm done too.
