The container that holds the water for the football team is 3/10 full. After pouring in 7 gallons of water, it is 4/5 full. How many gallons can the container hold?

    Suppose it can hold X gallons of water. so the current weight is 0.3X Now, you add 7 gallons and it's 0.8X full That means 0.3X + 7 = 0.8X Solve for X: 0.5X = 7 X = 14 so it can hold 14 gallons
