Check my work?!?!?!? 18. The sales of lawn mowers t years after a particular model is introduced is given by the function y = 5500 ln(9t + 4), where y is the number of mowers sold. How many mowers will be sold 5 years after a model is introduced? Round the answer to the nearest whole number.

    y = 5500 In(9t + 4); t = 5 y = 5500 In[9(5) + 4] y = 5500 In(45 + 4) y = 5500 In(49) y = 5500(3.9) y = 21450

    looks pretty good, except you should not round ln(49) to 3.9 you should keep as many digits as the calculator gives you, and multiply by 5500 you will get a more accurate answer that way (and different from 21450)

    But when i solve In(49) It is 3.9. So i should just leave the In(49) and multiply it by 5500? @phi

    you must have your calculator in fixed mode, where it is rounding the answer you can use the google search window to do calculations type in ln(49)= to see a more accurate number. that is the number you want the calculator to give you

    I found an online calculator and it just gave me the same thing, only shorter. 3.8918202981106

    so the answer is 21405 I had to look twice at your first answer 21450 (if you do 5500*3.9) which has the 5 and 0 swapped.
