Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0when the complex formed it gave intense purple colour... and whn i added dil.HCl the colour disappeared forming a yellow solution...

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0Don't you already have the product in your equation? If I remember correctly, I think that it gives you a benzyl chloride when treated with dilute HCl and a metal catalyst.
