From the second equation, clear for y You should obtain y=3.25x+14, then replace the y on the first equation, you'll obtain the exact value of x and ta dah'

So on the first equation it would look like 2.5x - 3(3.25x + 14) = -13? Then just solve for x?

Yes, After you obtain the value of x, you calculate the value of y. Don't look at the results after you've done it. You should get X=-4 and Y=1
