    perpendicular lines with slopes m and n will have : m*n=-1

    the product of slopes of two perpendicular lines is equal to -1 the slope of the line ( y = 3/4 x - 7) is 3/4 let the slope of the line perpendicular to it be m m(3/4) = -1 then m=-4/3
