I made a guide to help people with Macs launch idle. It's pretty basic, but I'd love to get some feedback: http://shymukerjee.com/ocw-help/launching%20idle%20on%20your%20mac.html

I'm sorry, I'm only seeing a shell in your tutorial. I wrote this little script to launch idle and put it in /usr/bin #!/bin/bash /usr/bin/python /System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/idlelib/idle.py & exit 0 I'm running 10.5.8, and adapted that path for you.
