What do you mean?
The site seems to go down at different times through the day almost every day.
Is someone doing updates when they should be waiting til later?
Or is there a problem with hosting maybe?
It's just really disappointing :(

We are a free site. It is powered by volunteers who do this for love of learning and to support openness. As we grow, the server has been getting overloaded with all the activity. Love us as we are - and help us any way you can to keep this site running and to generate revenues so we can improve on this marvelous site. Volunteer with us. Or if you choose to leave, we will miss you.
Heh, I don't plan on leaving.
I enjoy the site way too much.
Was just curious. c:
Thanks for the info.
Technically, it is because we have hit over half a mill uniques a month. And they generate a lot of chats, messages, questions etc. All needs to be stored. All good. So we need to come up with more money so we can afford more servers...It all comes down to cold hard cash!
Why not find a tech sponsor like intel to sponsor the backend load? With the amount of exposure openstudy provides it would be good pr for almost any big tech firm.
Support openstudy.com for 10 bucks a month I bet you that is what the money is for. If I was guest for bigger servers and stuff,
We are trying different things. Yes, we should look for a tech sponsor. We are also looking for subscriptions. All good ideas!
