    just do a few of the equations if you don't know.. fill in 1 for x and see what y should be

    yes u are right, but the reason being is that the absolute value of 2x is 2x y= |2 x | + 1 y= 2x + 1 now that makes it a lot simpler doesn't it?

    absolute value I remember as basically by "only taking the positive values"

    I figured that, wasn't sure though.. That's why I always stick to the positive side of the graph where possible, if it isn't possible it can't be correct anyway
