There is a natural river channel with complex cross sections. The bed roughness of side bank is 1 n = 0.04 and main channel is 2 n = 0.03. Calculate the flow discharge in the channel if the bed slope is i = 0.0004. In the calculations, you can assume the side slope is zero, which means that the total cross sectional areas can be regarded as being composed of two rectangular sections.
