Create a console-based program and a GUI application, which justifies the following conditions: The Main() method prompts the user for an integer value and, in turn, passes the value to a method that squares the number and a method that cubes the number.

The Cube() method should call the Square() method. The Main() method displays the results returned from each of the other methods.

What do you know how to do thus far? Any experience with coding? I believe this is Java?

http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/index.html is the home of the Oracle Java Trail. http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/uiswing/index.html is the start of the Swing GUI tutorial... not too sure why you have to do this problem without any prior knowledge of Java...
