Please Help! In "The Chrysanthemums" by John Steinbeck, How does Steinbeck show the simple lifestyles led in this story? A. Elisa and Henry worry about how they will pay for their dinner if they go into town that night. B. Winter is ending at the ranch and there is much work for Elisa and Henry to complete. C. At first Elisa will not give the stranger any work to do because she is afraid they cannot afford the extra expense. D. Elisa grows all of their fruits and vegetables while Henry raises their meat and poultry.
