When proteins are formed/synthesized by the ribosomes they are sent to the Golgi apparatus which modifies the protein(e.g by binding it to a lipid forming a lipoprotein) packages it into vessicles and sends it of for use either outside the cell or within the cell, the same goes for lipid produced within the cell The Golgi also create lysosomes(membrane bound vessicles containing digestive enxymes for cell digestion)
