elenas daughter sold 23 boxes of girl scout cookies. she was told that this amount represented 10% of the troops sale. how many boxes did the troop sell?

    assuming the troop sold some X number of boxes..ok... then 10% OF X=23?

    let x= total sold by the troop 10%=.10 10%=1/10 let's use the fraction (1/10)*x=23 multiply by 10(both sides) x=230 boxes of expensive girl scout cookies does that help?
