My teacher said i did these wrong can anyone explain how to properly solve these questions for me? it says i have to evaluate the expression i thought it was correct but now im confused 2. 5 |-4 + 3| = 15 3. -2 + 3 |-4| = -3 4. | -2 + -4| ----------- = 0 6 5. 3| -2+-6| + -3 = -8

    you have to get the absolute value sign alone first.

    @Markitos , solve the second part, and do take care of one thing that the expression which is in |dw:1359567749335:dw| sign becomes +ve when it is negative. this sign is called mod which converts -ve sign into +ve

    because it is in mod sign , as i have already told that the expreesion in this mod sign becomes always +ve , if it is -ve

    no there is no 11, when LHS is not equal to RHS, then we put equal sign but we place a cross sign on that first write equal sign

    -2 + 3 |-4| = -3 -2 + 3 (4) = -3 -2 +12 = -3

    so if the number in the bracket is negative then it becomes positive and you put parenthesis around correct

    i just put the bracket to see the difference, it doesnot matter either u put bracket or not.
