You need to determine how much money he makes in one week, which is what "a" is. So you start right here: a = ... We know that he earn $9 per hour so 9h is money he earns. He has bonus for each item he repairs, n is number of items he repaired and b is bonus amount for each item, so nb is total bonus he earns. Combine hourly wage and bonus for total amount of money he earns and you get a = 9h + nb. Is this clear?

You just need to read careful and use your brain. It isn't that hard, trust me.
