I'm assuming I will have to make an equation. Either, 3x + 2 = 12, or 4x - 2 = 9?

3. BlueHellWolf

im not realy gona answer this cause personaly i dont know how but im going to point something out thats over looked often.....theres 2 triangles the small and the big1....for the big1 the measurement isnt the 4x-2 by 3x+2 its actualy 4x-2+9 by 3x+2+12 and the small 1 is 9 by 12

4. enya.gold

The triangle looks to be Scalene. What do you think? @BlueHellWolf

5. BlueHellWolf

agreed

6. enya.gold

Alright. I am almost positive I have to use the Side-Splitter Theorem.

7. enya.gold

$\frac{ 4x - 2 }{ 9 } = \frac{ 3x + 2 }{ 12 }$

8. enya.gold

Now we cross multiply.

9. enya.gold

Not sure if I'm supposed to be getting fractions? @BlueHellWolf

10. BlueHellWolf

idk im sorry

11. enya.gold

Stumped? I feel like a stick in the mud. I know I have to use the SS Theorem, mainly because the triangle is not a right triangle, thus canceling out use of Right Triangle Similarity. @Opcode

12. Opcode

$$\huge\frac{ 4x - 2 }{ 9 } = \frac{ 3x + 2 }{ 12 }$$ Your equation is correct.
