People power. You click on 'best response' if you feel that a particular reply best answers your question. That'll give the user who replied a "medal".

if not you, then someone else. I mean, anybody who clicks on the question can see all the replies and give one medal per question. So when i'm browsing though questions on the left, i look for the best answer (according to me) and give that user a medal. Since every user can give a medal, the best answer is usually the one with the most medals. Other than that, there's no guarantee that a particular reply is absolutely correct. If you're not satisfied, you can always bump the question or seek clarification.

not only u.. but other people who would know the solution would also recognize it and click on the best response.. besides.. usually no one answers if they are not very sure.. and most of times.. when m not sure.. i do mention to check my answer.. and you should always do your part of doing the research over the net.. google is your friend.. the benefit of this site is that.. if you don't understand something very specific.. you can just ask it here and you would get the reply very shortly and can continue the discussion.. which is not possible with static websites like wikipedia or howstuffworks.. but for complete and a detailed info they are the best.. !!

This is not an "answering" site. This is a "study" site meant to facilitate the exchange of ideas and promote discussions that will develop proper solutions.
