    take each equation piece by piece...aww #(*&@*(# it only x^2-5 for piece by piece because I can see that x = 1 and -1

    take the square root of 5

    oh wait we may need to test them ... well plug the x values back into the equation. I can see that 1 and -1 doesn't equal to 0

    -3 does not equal to 0 if we plug x = 1 and -1 back into the equation
