Romeo And Juliet is an amazing play written by the all knowing William Shakespeare. It is a love story/tragedy that includes the two lovebirds Romeo and Juliet. They are from two different households that are enemies; Romeo is of the Montague family and Juliet is a Capulet. This makes it close to impossible for them to be together especially since Romeo killed Juliet’s cousin Tybalt whom Juliet’s parents loved very much. In the end, the couple ends up killing themselves over their “suicidal love” for each other. Over the course of the play, Romeo was supposedly in love twice. Once with Rosaline and then again of course with Juliet. At the beginning of the play he was infatuated with Rosaline and claimed that he would never get over her and that he would love her forever. Then, two days later he is married to Juliet the day after meeting her. Romeo is an over emotional, possibly mentally ill individual with unnecessary love for women. He needs to learn how to control his emotions and take things slower. Also, Romeo was not in love with Rosaline nor Juliet; Romeo rather is in love with being in love itself. He loves to love, be loved, be over emotional, and also other things that come with being in love that don’t need to be mentioned. For the majority of her life, Juliet will have no choice in who she loves due to the time period and because of the isolation on Juliet by the parents. The only men that she has ever met or has had a chance with were men that her parents (especially her mother) picked out for her. Romeo and Juliet are not in love because Romeo is too emotional and Juliet was just looking for an escape from the clutches of her parents; William Shakespeare is trying to trick the reader into thinking that Romeo and Juliet are in love because he wants to show the reader how many millions of people are not in love with whom they are with, but simply with being in love itself; William Shakespeare is also be showing that there is no love at first site relative to the time period. Romeo is not in love with Juliet because over the course of the play he is in love with two women proving that he is not in love with Juliet but rather he is in love with being in love itself. Romeo is referring to Rosaline when he is saying that he cannot live without her and will never get over not being with her. He does not know of Juliet at this point as he has yet to meet her. Also he believes at this point of the play that this is the woman (Rosaline) that he loves and wants to spend the rest of his life with. Although, as we all know, less than a week later after being in a suicidal trance with Rosaline does he fall for Juliet. “But knows not of my love; ‘twas through my eyes/ The shaft empierced my heart; chance gave me the wound./ Which time can never heal: no star befriends me;/ To each sad night succeeds a dismal morrow;/ And still ‘tis hopeless love, and endless sorrow”(I.i. ). Romeo was not in love with Juliet because apparently he was in love with Rosaline less than a week before. He is in love with being in love and with women in general, not just Juliet but also Rosaline. What would happen if Romeo went to another party? Romeo and Juliet may think that they are in love but it is not true. This is what will lead to their demise. Romeo is an over emotional, possibly mentally ill individual with unnecessary love for women. He needs to learn how to control his emotions. Juliet was the first woman that he sees after being in a trance with Rosaline and then two days after he meets Juliet he wants to marry her. It is at the party at the Capulets when Romeo first sees Juliet. He is still ruminating about Rosaline but then he sees Juliet and totally forgets about ever loving Rosaline. This is a major turn in the play caused by Romeo’s mood swing. Another example in which he needs to control his emotions. “O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!/ It seems her beauty hangs upon the cheek of night,/ Like a rich jewel in an Ethiop’s ear-/ Beauty too rich for use, for earth too dear.” (I.V.51-54) This quote totally changes the perspective of Romeo’s emotions as he was sad over the course of the whole play until this quote. He was depressed and all he could think about was how he couldn’t have Rosaline. Then the next attractive woman that he sees he falls in another deep trance with and becomes overemotional with the second woman in the course of two days. Romeo says the same things about Rosaline in the same act of the play and he falls out of love with Rosaline and into love with Juliet without even skipping a beat and being over emotional and without making much sense at the same time. Juliet has no choice in who she loves due to the time period and because of the isolation on Juliet by the parents. The only men that she has ever met or has had a chance with were men that her parents (especially her mother) picked out for her. At the time of the quote, Lady Capulet is explaining to Juliet that she was married with Juliet at her age and that she should get married. She then brings up Paris, the man that loves her, is much older than her, and wants to marry her. If the parents give consent, Juliet has no choice but to marry Paris because of the time period. “Well, think of marriage now. Younger than you,/ Here in Verona, ladies of esteem,/ Are made already mothers. By my count,/ I was your mother much upon these years/ That you are now a maid. Thus then in brief:/ The valiant Paris seeks you for his love” (I.iii.73-78``). This quote is leading up to Capulet and Lady Capulet pushing Paris on Juliet and telling her that it is time to get married. When Paris and marriage are in the same sentence, you know that they are trying to start something. Juliet is not in love with Romeo. This quote shows a man that is well above her age being forced on her that she hasn’t even met or has made an emotional connection with yet. Juliet is also very emotional but not as emotional as Romeo is. Juliet is just in love with having a choice in men, not with Romeo. There was nothing special about Romeo. He was just a boy that she liked and didn’t waste any time getting to know him before they got married. Then again, Juliet probably didn’t know any better and getting married sooner than later was justifiably okay for the time period that the play takes place in. The play Romeo and Juliet takes place around 1600. Romeo and Juliet are not in love because Romeo is too emotional and Juliet was just looking for an escape from the clutches of her parents. Romeo is in love with two women during the course of the play. Romeo is an over emotional, possibly mentally ill individual with unnecessary love for women. He needs to learn how to control his emotions. Juliet has no choice in who she loves due to the time period and because of the isolation on Juliet by the parents. The only men that she has ever met or has had a chance with were men that her parents (especially her mother) picked out for her. This was the first chance for both of them as during the play Romeo falls for every girl he sees. Romeo is also the first boy that Juliet has met on her own terms without her parents butting in. If they had given themselves chances to meet other people maybe they would’ve found real love elsewhere with not the first person they meet that is a match for them.

Not really, It needs more work, the opening is not strong and way too bland. Arguments are weak, needs quite a bit more examples and less opinions.. and sumarizing.

Don't do that, you'll end up copying it, rather, go away, take 30 minutes, do something else, come back and reread it. Next make sure you have a strong thesis, What do you want the reader to think by the end of the essay? Next use 2-3 solid examples that prove your point, specifically from the story, delve deep and analyze. Use relevant quotes and support your example for that paragraph. Conclude by restating, because of this this and this you can see that this place is such and such. And that should be it.

I'm not saying you will cheat, I'm saying it's a bad idea. What happens is (I've seen this with many undergrad college papers) Is that kids will look at an essay to go off, but become too focused on folowing the model or style of writing, as a result there own essay is a mess.

That depends on the teacher. Work on it though. I would give it maybe a B/B-, if I were generous.
