in how many ways can a person answer 5 true or false questions?

    each question can be answered in 2 ways ie 2C1. there are 5 questions. so the no of ways is 2*2*2*2*2=32 ways

    thhanks!!! but how about in how many ways the exam be completed if a penalty is imposed for each incorrect answer, so that a person may leave some questions unanswered?

    so now there are three different ways to answer; true , false or blank

    when there were only two ways to answer there were \(2^5\) ways now there are three ways the are \(3^5\) ways

    how many 4 digits number can be formed with 1, 2,3,6,7,8 if each digit is used most at once? how many of these smaller than 600? ans( 360, 60)
