What does this speaker in "On Turning Ten" believe is “the beginning of sadness”? -putting away his bicycle for the winter -saying good-bye to old friends in the neighborhood -learning that someone in his family is ill turning ten years old

    I think it is turning ten....as he looks back on his life and remembers his imaginary friends and riding his bike....he realizes he is growing up and is going to miss his past.
