Hmmm.... I honestly can't give you a definite answer here. I Believe that these are NOT the answers: D and B. Joyfully describes the birds emotions, not the bird itself. A and C seem like good answers, but I am not sure which is best. Which word impacts you a bit more? What stands out to you most clearly?

You know what? You are right. I was thinking about this, an"Cloud" has the most effect. Why? Because it is a metaphor. It's not saying what the bird is doing, or how he is feeling, but it is figuratively saying that this bird is SO light, it doesn't feel like a cloud, it IS a cloud. "A" is your best bet. :)
