I am having hard time reading it ... could you simplify the problem? how much is your matrix?
anonymous
  • anonymous
do you want me to make it a PDF?
experimentX
  • experimentX
no ... how much is your matrix?? what are it's rows and columns ...

2 1 0 5 0 8 3 0 1 6 0 9 -4 0 0 7 1 10

so what are you going to do? I think the R2 will be R2/3
anonymous
  • anonymous
yeah i was thinking that too. i'm having a hard time getting the 2nd, 3rd, 5th and 6th blanks.
experimentX
  • experimentX
i really don't like it ... first it makes R1 zero, then R3 zero and then make R2 = 1 It it had asked to make R2 = 1 first ... then R1 = R1 - 2R2 and R3 = R3 + 4R3
experimentX
  • experimentX
if ... R2 is not make 1 first then, your answer should be R1 = R1 - 2/3 R2 R3 = R3 + 4/3 R2

so our goal was to get a 1 and a 0 in that first column?
