    the median is the physical middle of the data set.. you have 8 pieces of data to find the position of the median add 1 to the number of pieces of data and halve the answer... (8 + 1)/2 = 4.5 so the median is between the 4th and 5th piece of data. so to find the value add the 4th and 5th score then divide by 2.
