Write and solve a proportion for each problem. Show your work. Answer the question. Faith raked 4 bags of leaves in 20 minutes. At this rate,how long could she be expected to take to rake 9 bags ?

    1'st set up the proportion. put 4 bags 9 bags --- x ------ 20 mins x cross multiply 20 * 9, then divide by 4 20*9 / 4 = 45 minutes. always put the same thing you are solving for either on top or the bottom, the numerator has the number of bangs and the denominator has the number of minutes and x you are solving for.
