Not to sure but I think it's A or C. Most likely A. The urban middle class sought to overturn the coffee elite-controlled government.
let me see....hold on, I am working on the last question
Hmm Prussia. The Prussian ambassador to the U.S. was an outspoken education reformer who collaborated with Horace Mann. I remember help @help123please. with Horace Mann research. And I read about that :P
I agree with Opcode....Mann wanted to adopt the Prussian education system
Which of the following describes the purpose of the Regeneration group in Mexico? to create a new Mexican constitution I remember it pretty well, I remember learning about this when I was learning about the Texas annexation.
okay Use the following excerpt taken from an abolition speech delivered by William Wilberforce to answer the question below: "Having now disposed of the first part of this subject, I must speak of the transit of the slaves in the West Indies. This I confess, in my own opinion, is the most wretched part of the whole subject. So much misery condensed in so little room, is more than the human imagination had ever before conceived ... Let any one imagine to himself 6 or 700 of these wretches chained two and two, surrounded with every object that is nauseous and disgusting, diseased, and struggling under every kind of wretchedness! How can we bear to think of such a scene as this?" -William Wilberforce's, 1789 Abolition Speech Based on the above excerpt, why did Wilberforce think that slavery should be abolished? Slavery does not provide enough profit for the amount of suffering it causes. Slavery causes the spread of disease, which could affect Europeans as well as Africans No person should be submitted to the immense suffering that is perpetrated through slavery. People who are submitted to the suffering caused by slavery might rebel against Europeans.
I am not sure about the first one....I am thinking A
No person should be submitted to the immense suffering that is perpetrated through slavery. I think this because of this: "So much misery condensed in so little room, is more than the human imagination had ever before conceived ... Let any one imagine to himself 6 or 700 of these wretches chained two and two, surrounded with every object that is nauseous and disgusting, diseased, and struggling under every kind of wretchedness! How can we bear to think of such a scene as this?"
okay next In what way did the movement toward independence in India differ from that of Korea? The colony of India was split into two different countries. Korea achieved independence because Japan lost the war. India achieved independence when Britain entered the war. Korea fought a long and violent war for independence.
I agree again with Opcode...No person should be submitted to the immense suffering that is perpetrated through slavery
okay i do too
I'm not two sure on this on :O I do think it's: The colony of India was split into two different countries. Because I do remember the cause for India splitting was because of the different views between Hindus and Muslims.
what do you think @kelliegirl33
the other question is What's one reason why the independence movements in Africa tended to be more violent than other places? African countries tended to seek independence earlier than other countries around the world. The colonies in Africa each had very large white settler populations who resisted all attempts at independence. The colonies in Africa had been the sight of most of the most deadly battles of the Second World War. Africa had undergone centuries of brutal exploitation and mass slavery that broke down institutions of civil society.
It was split ...Hindu India and Muslim Pakistan
okay so the first one i understand now
I would say the 2nd one for your last question
I'm pretty sure this one would be: The colonies in Africa each had very large white settler populations who resisted all attempts at independence. Watch the movie called ROOTS and you'll see why :P
Cool In what way did the independence movements in Puerto Rico and Jamaica result in similar outcomes? Both gained constitutional governments without violent wars. Both gained independence through violence means. Both independence movements were rooted in black nationalism. Both won independence from the Spanish crown. Im from puerto rico :3
i think its d
I agree with you :P
okay next Why might France have been more motivated to resist independence movements in Algeria than it had in French Indo-China? Algeria had a large settler community made up of French-speaking Europeans. Algeria had been a part of France since the the end of World War II. The Vietnamese resistance was stronger and far more organized. The Vietnamese independence movement appealed to Britain for help.
wow....you both are fast...I just found the answer to the question before this and when I came back to this site, you both had already answered it.
I am sorry...I have to go now....Good job @Opcode and @IxairaS
see ya Okay op so what do you
I will catch up with you again some other time....One day I will eventually answer before Opcode...lol :)
Hmm. Okay bye @kelliegirl33 . I'm not sure.. This: Algeria had a large settler community made up of French-speaking Europeans. Is wrong because it was more of a Muslim community. Algeria had been a part of France since the end of World War II. I do think they were a part since the middle ages... I'm really not sure on this :O
Ohh dont worry about it :) In what way were the 1988 elections that voted out the Chilean dictator Pinochet initially a failure? He used a coup to regain power and resist democratic reforms. He defied the election results and stayed in power for two more years. He used the election to persecute democracy reformer Michelle Bachelet. He defied the election results by forcing the military to retake power.
C. He used the election to persecute democracy reformer Michelle Bachelet.
Okay :) Which of the following forced Jean-Bertrand Aristide out of power in Haiti? the United Nations the Haitian aristocracy the Haitian military the nation of Cuba
I think it was the UN. So A. If I do remember correctly the UN trade embargo during Aristide's was a contributing factor.
Okay next this is the second to last Which of the following was General Augusto Pinochet responsible for? the many sanctions imposed on Bolivia the disappearance of thousands of people in Chile the short Falkland War with Great Britain the harsh suppression of a revolution in Algeria
Hmm. the short Falkland War with Great Britain. Would probably make most sense.
This is the last one Use the following image to answer the question below: In which of the following would this sign have been used? Kenya in 1960 South Africa in 1980 Libya in 1965 Brazil in 1970
Thank you so much again for your help. And i have a personal question how do you know all this stuff. :)
what do you think?
Hmm. The bottom language is Afrikaans. That language is common in south Africa :P
