    For multiplication and division, if the signs are the same the answer is positive, and if the signs are different the answer is negative.

    yup, so first ignore the sign and do the division, which you did correctly. Then worry about the sign. So you have two different signs, and so the answer is negative. So you stick a minus sign in front of the 8.
