An online company charges a shipment fee of $4.99 per order and an item fee of $0.65 per pound to ship furniture. Part A :Write a numerical expression that can be used to find the total cost to ship a piece of furniture that weighs 8 pounds.Part B: What is the total cost, in dollars to ship a piece of furniture that weighs 8 pounds ?

    Well..so you have the shipment fee of 4.99 and the per pound fee of 0.65. So.. Lets look at the per pound fee. You have a piece of furniture that is 8 POUNDS. To find the total amount you need to pay for the whole piece of furniture you need to multiply 0.65 x 8 agree? 0.65 x 8= 5.20 Now we know that the piece of furniture costs $5.20 You buy that piece of furniture and its shipping price is $4.99 so now you have to add the shipping cost to the cost of the piece of furniture. that would be.. $4.99 + $5.20 = $10.19

    0.65(8) + 4.99=T T- Total Cost .65 is for the cost per pound 8 is for the amount of pounds the piece of furniture weighs 4.99 is the cost of shipping.
