    actually @Compassionate that could be read as (5*4-x)-11. It may be better to write it as five minus the expression four minus x, subtract eleven.

    It is assumed that five is already being multiplied by the expression 4-x. You could also write it that way, though the word, "expression," or, "terms," isn't used when writing equations.
