yes, of course it will be the same

2. satellite73 Group Title

$x^2+10x=-23$ $(x+5)^2=-23+5^2=-23+25=2$ $x+5=\pm\sqrt{2}$ $x=-5\pm\sqrt{2}$ is the completing the square method

3. tmybby Group Title

So they both will equal x=-5+-square root 2? :) Cus they are both on my assignment, but asking to solve it differently...

4. satellite73 Group Title

you can solve it using the quadratic formula if you like you will get the same answer
