Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development is best describe as an explanation that personal awareness and conscience is innate and develop at the same rate. all people judge moral issues in terms of personal guidelines. children grow up with morals similar to those of their parents. children easily understand ideals and morals by the age of 3. children progress from a morality based on reward and punishment to ultimately one based by abstract ethical ideals and principles.
