    Break it up into two cases: Case 1: \(|x-7|\) is positive: \[ (x - 7) - 7 = -3 \] Case 2: \(|x-7|\) is negative: \[ -(x - 7) - 7 = -3 \] Solve for each case. They're both correct answer.

    In general, you can save yourself repetition by isolating the part in the absolute value bars before breaking it up into cases.
