I think there would be an outrage because taking away freedom is wrong. But also its the main reason we are in the USA because people fought and died for that right. I think it also lets people know what's going on and to state their opinion.
your* Early American journalism is critical to the past and present, as it helps to define the course of history that has taken place. If freedom of the press were not guaranteed, we would be one step closer to being communist and anti-free speech.
American journalism is somewhat of a sensationalist propaganda. Not to sound over the top, but while media projects a very bright light about the states, many communities there face bouts of darkness. Media in general, isn't exactly an honest device, and it's not censorship, it's their degree of convenience which makes them so. ^Pardon me on the controversial statement.
