We use forms of "saber" when we're talking about knowing facts, and skills. Such as..... "Yo sé montar en bicicleta." (I know how to ride a bike.) "Tú sabes la respuesta." (You know the answer.) ~~~~~~~~~~ On the other hand, we use forms of "conocer" when we're talking about being FAMILIAR with people, and places. Such as..... "Yo conozco a ella." (I know her.) "Tú conoces Nueva York." (You are familiar with New York.)
