You get a part-time job earning $8.60/hr. Tips are $3.25/hr on average. Deductions are FICA (7.65%), federal tax withholding (11.2%), and state tax withholding (7.45%). You work for 15 hours. What is your gross base pay?

    Add All Of Them Together , And You Get 20.7 . I Had That Exact Same Question , And Someone Told Me It Was That , If Its Wrong , Sorry ! Im Not Good At Finance .. (: Love You Still !

    8.60+3.25 = 11.85/ hour works 15 hours => 15 * 11.85 = 177.75 untaxed income total taxes = 7.65+11.2+7.45 = 26.3% so 26.3% of 177.75 = 46.75 (this amount is taken by government) thus 177.75-46.75 = $131 gross base pay
