Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0without raising the temperature, you can increase the volume of a gas to raise it's temperature. Basically, if you do work(increasing the volume) on the object, it will raise it's internal energy, and subsequently it's temperature.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.0When a gas is compressed it heats up. feel your bicycle pump after you use it. you do work ON a gas by compressing it. DECREASING its volume.
