the second one has both concerns. the first case gave school institutions disciplinary power over students making lewd statements or acts  expression is not permitted to children in a public school (1st amendment issue).

the second case raised questions what students can write and are they compelled to respect the privacy of their subjects. this is why permission is sought before publishing anything that concerns another person
