Are all percussion instruments hit with sticks?

    Not with sticks, but every percussion instrument does have to have some type of hitting involved to create sound.

    Not necessarily. The glokenspiel, ratchet, slide whistle, maracas, and piano are all considered to be percussion instruments, but are not struck by anything to produce a sound. :)
