    u = x^3 + 2 du = 3x^2 dx 1/3 du = x^2 dx see that integral becomes 1/3 int(u)^1/2 du

    to get the integral of u^1/2 du use the basic formula : int u^n du = 1/(n+1) u^(n+1)
