Help?
The small town of Quincy recently installed a tornado siren in the center of the downtown area. In ideal conditions, the siren can be heard from a distance of 4 miles in every direction. The Pavlov family is thinking of buying a house 2.5 miles east and 3 miles north of the siren. Will they be able to hear the siren if it sounds? Justify your answer.

Best ResponseYou've already chosen the best response.1To calculate a vector (in this case, a radius from the beacon) use the pythagorean theorem: \[a ^{2}+b ^{2}=c ^{2}\] dw:1368726986917:dw Your triangle has a leg of 2.5 miles (distance east of beacon) and a leg of 3 miles (distance north of beacon). What is the hypotenuse of your triangle?
